This striking pin was made in the Art Deco era. It doesnt have the attributes you would expect in an Art Deco piece but thats because its designer was a trailblazer who was far ahead of his time. This pin was made in the Henry George Murphy Falcon studio that was founded in 1928. This 14k yellow gold piece has a starburst of metal that looks like abstract flower petals. The gemstones in the center of the pin are the most valuable variety of citrine known as Madeira citrine. Henry George Murphys work has become highly collectible, especially since a retrospective of his work took place in London in 2005.
