This amazing Civil War era engagement ring is beautifully crafted in rich buttery 18k yellow gold. Contrasting the rich gold color, the shoulders and gallery of the ring are adorned with hand painted black vitreous enamel over fine hand engraving. This give the ring a certain depth, while the enamel work remains in such good condition. Set via eight (8) prongs, a glittery .61 carat old mine cut diamond rounds out this terrific Victorian era ring. It also retains its original engraving, which reads: ?.T.K to M.C.H. April 2nd 1865.
