This Mid-Century vintage necklace features a 14 karat yellow gold four-leaf clover pendant with four heart-shaped chrysoprase stones and a 2.0mm pearl center, engraved with "Happy Birthday 5-17-64." Each chrysoprase stone measures 6.25 x 6.25 x 3.00mm and weighs .50 carats, displaying the apple-green color characteristic of the gemstone. Chrysoprase is a translucent variety of chalcedony that shows a bright, minty green tone.
The round medallion measures 1 inch wide, making this noticeable when worn without being too large or heavy. The engraving from May 17, 1964 gives this piece personal history. The yellow gold setting has developed the natural patina that comes with a Mid-Century piece.
