Our History

Filigree Jewelers is a trademark owned by Filigree Jewelers, LLC.  All rights reserved

Jewelry is a combination of passion, art and rare treasures. Reviewing, researching, and selecting the perfect piece of jewelry is similar to selecting a fine piece of art.  The finest museums in the world use only the most knowledgeable curators for their permanent and selected displays.   Our family has a long and storied history in the jewelry business dating back to 1923 in San Francisco.  Our longstanding lineage in the business has given us the ability (and industry connections) to source one of a kind antique and vintage jewelry of which we then provide as inventory to many of the finest retail shops in the country.
With decades of knowledge backing our inventory, we have curated our showroom with stunning, hard to find jewels dating from the Victorian era to the present day. Filigree Jewelers is an antique and vintage jeweler located in the historic North Loop neighborhood of downtown Minneapolis.
We take great pride in building relationships one client at a time and we base these relationships on educating our clients while cultivating comfort in their purchase.  Our business was built through the years by word of mouth referrals and by developing these personal relationships.

Filigree Jewelers has grown over the years to become one of the foremost authorities for antique and vintage jewelry. Whether online or in person, we view each and every client that we encounter as a lifelong, lasting relationship and we will do everything in our power to ensure that your experience with Filigree Jewelers is as enjoyable and as unique as our jewelry.

The Blackroom

Our second location, The Black Room is located inside of Martin Patrick 3, whom we’ve partnered with since 2015. It is on the first floor of the Colonial Warehouse Building. The Black Room is where we keep all of our jewelry that isn’t engagement rings or wedding bands. We feature an eclectic assortment of one of a kind estate rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and brooches. You’ll find many stamped and signed pieces by designers like Cartier, Tiffany and Chopard. We also carry new, original pieces we created with remnants of antique and vintage baubles. We adore gems and jewelry and we’re proud of the rare, unique pieces we have. We admire the skills and craftsmanship that went into making each one special and we’re enthusiastic about sharing what we know about them. We do our best to make it a welcoming environment where visitors don’t leave the store without first draping something gorgeous over them. We also offer a variety of vintage and high-end, pre-owned Swiss men’s watches featuring exclusive brands such as Patek Phillippe, A. Lange and Sohne, Rolex, IWC and Panerai just to name a few.

Our Family

Brent
co-owner

While other kids were mowing lawns for their first job Brent was apprenticing with a watch maker. He also has over two decades of experience in the jewelry industry in buying, selling and appraising. He has a great eye and he designs all the new pieces we make with remnants of antique and vintage jewelry. He is highly creative but also logical which helps him gently guide clients through the custom design process. He’s an awesome Dad with a heart big enough to match his 6’4” frame. He loves to read and has a wicked sense of humor.

Catherine
co-owner

Catherine is a third generation jeweler. She can rattle off the differences between diamond cuts as easily most people can recite their ABCs. She’s gregarious, friendly and the heart and soul of Filigree. She will most likely ask to hold your baby since hers are now old enough to wriggle out of her arms. She has killer style and is as smart as a whip.

Jesse
showroom manager

Jesse wears many hats at Filigree. We’re fortunate that he has the ability to tackle IT issues one minute and can talk to customers about the differences between design eras the next. He is so knowledgeable about jewelry you would never know he worked in finance in his former life. He’s passionate about music and spends his spare time composing and doing side gigs as a DJ. Jesse’s genuine, disarming laugh will charm you as you drool over our jewels.

Sharon
blackroom manager

Sharon is also our resident rock nerd with a passion for rare and unusual gemstones. She loves the romance and lore behind antique jewelry as well as the refined details found only in old pieces.  She is currently studying for her graduate gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America. She enjoys being in charge of the Filigree Jewelers Instagram page and the mini field trips it requires.

Yazon
Creative

Yazon has an educational background in Art. She handles the photography for our website. She is wildly creative and has a kindness that draws you to her. She is an animal and nature lover who gets inspired by the beauty of the natural world. She is known for regularly bringing flowers to office and not just so she can use them as a backdrop for a photograph.

Pamela
Sales

Pamela has a long history working with luxury goods. She has an easy laugh and has yet to meet a color that doesn’t look amazing on her. She has a distinctive style that is somehow both over the top and sophisticated. It’s worth coming in just to see what shoes from her extensive collection she will be wearing.

Peggysue
Accredited Jewelry Professional

PeggySue is a student working towards her Masters in Public Policy who also has a ton of experience working with fine jewelry. When she isn’t fighting for social justice she can be found drinking large amounts of coffee which then leads to some awesome chair dancing. She tends to fall hard and fast for jewelry, especially colored diamonds.
