Ethical Diamonds

We are proud to offer antique engagement rings that are earth friendly. Antique diamond rings require no additional mining for materials and thus have no imprint on the environment. We love that when you choose the romance of an antique diamond that you are also choosing to recycle. Another way we reduce our impact on the environment is by making new, original rings using antique diamonds and colored stones. We re-purpose antique stones from damaged or outdated vintage jewelry whenever possible and we use only recycled metals.

You can also take comfort from the fact that all antique diamonds are conflict free. Conflict diamonds are illegally traded stones that were mined sometime in the last 50 years. Since our antique diamonds predate the mining of conflict stones there is never a question as to the conditions under which they were obtained. The best way to be certain that you are getting a diamond that is conflict free is to buy an antique diamond.

We occasionally use new diamonds but we only buy stones that have followed the Kimberley Process. In 2002, the UN adopted The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme to end the practice of diamond trading by dubious means. The Kimberley Process outlines the regulations and requirements countries must follow to make sure a diamond is mined in a humane and legitimate way.
